LECTURE: "FIELD COLLECTING IN BOLIVIA" - Photos of mineral localities in the Andes mountains in Bolivia, along with the minerals to be found, and the culture of the local miners and dealers, concentrating on those localities where foreign collectors like us can successfully enjoy field collecting and live to tell the tale.
SPEAKER: Alfredo Petrov - Was born in England, studied geology in California, and worked in Japan, the USA, Spain and Latin America. He lived longest in Bolivia - for 12 years - and traveled frequently to the tin, silver, tungsten, antimony, bismuth, gold, and sulfur mines in the high altitudes of the Andes mountains, as well as the humid tropical lowlands of the Amazon basin. He has written many papers in the U.S. and European journals on Bolivia's mineral localities, and is active in vetting the accuracy of Bolivian data in Mindat and Mineralienatlas.
